Terms of Service
Last updated August 6, 2026
1 · What American Rider is
American Rider is a technology platform that connects travelers with independent professional drivers ("operators"). We arrange the trip, show you one all-in price, and handle the payment. The driving itself is provided by independent operators, not by American Rider — we are a coordination platform, not a transportation carrier.
2 · Your account
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Minors ride with an accountholder.
- Keep your email and sign-in details accurate and to yourself. What happens on your account is your responsibility, so tell us right away (through Help) if you think someone else is using it.
3 · Pricing — the promise
- You see one all-in price before you book: the fare plus a flat $1.50 booking fee. No surge pricing, no hidden fees, no separate "processing" charges.
- The price you book at is the price you pay. It does not change during the ride, and moving your pickup pin never changes it.
- Your operator keeps 99% of the fare. Our commission is 1%, capped at $1 per trip.
4 · Cancellations
- Cancel free any time before your operator arrives at the pickup.
- After your operator has arrived, cancelling has a $3 fee — it goes to the operator for their time, not to us.
5 · Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. During the testing period every payment is a simulation — nothing is actually charged.
6 · Riding with us
Treat operators and their vehicles the way you'd want to be treated. Don't use the platform for anything unlawful, don't interfere with a driver's safe operation of the vehicle, and follow reasonable operator requests (seatbelts, no smoking, and similar). We can suspend accounts that put operators or other travelers at risk.
7 · During the beta
The service is provided "as is" while we test. Features may be simulated, change, or break; the app may be unavailable at times. To the fullest extent Florida law allows, American Rider's liability during the test program is limited to the amounts you actually paid us (during the beta, that is $0).
8 · Disagreements
If something goes wrong, use Help in the app first — most problems are fixed in minutes. For anything we can't resolve together, these terms are governed by Florida law and any dispute belongs to the courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida.
9 · Changes to these terms
When we update these terms — including before real paid rides begin — we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
